“ I've been wanting to get fluffy pancakes for a long time. Every time we've come to Japan, i have been denied time and time again for one reason or another. This time the better half said I will get the souffle pancakes during this trip. She did her research and told me about this place and this place didn't disappoint at all. Pro tip, if you want to make sure you eat here, I suggest you stand in line around 7:30am. Yes you heard me, 7:30am I was there and I was first but right after me there three others came to stand in line behind me. The shop opens it's doors to start taking reservations for the day. You tell them how many in your party and how many dishes you want. For every dish you say you want or number of seats you say is in your party, you will have to leave a deposit of 1,000 yen per person or per dish, which ever is more. It was just the better half and myself but we wanted to try 3 dishes so I had to leave 3,000 yen and I got to choose what time i wanted to come back. They give you a slip with the time, of your reservation, number of guests and number of dishes you wanted to order. Make sure you bring that piece of paper when you come back. First you have to order which pancakes you want. We ordered the Original (honey and butter), Bacon & eggs with original hollandaise sauce and last but not least we ordered Red Beans & Black sugar with matcha & kinako powder. You can add one of the 16 toppings for additional money. I would say if you are ordering the Original, it might pretty cool to order some toppings to go with it. If you are look for some good fluffy pancakes, I highly recommend to come here as they have the right combination just for you. ”

“ Were the pancakes good? Yes. Worth the wait and uncertainty on if you'd get a reservation? Not really. This place has gotten a lot of hype thanks to TikTok, and while I'm glad I tried it, I wouldn't rush back. We lined up around 7:30 a.m. just to get on the waitlist when the restaurant opened at 10 I believe. Getting a spot wasn't the issue--but I wasn't a fan of having to go hours before they even opened. Luckily, there are plenty of sights nearby to kill some time between making the reservation and the actual reservation. The pancakes are big and picture-perfect, but they were a bit on the dry side for me. If you're on the fence, I'd say skip it, especially since the unpredictable wait time can mess with your plans. ”

“ The food tasted good, and the novelty of having such fluffy pancakes is a plus. It gave us a kick watching the dish come to life. They kept the place neat and tidy, very minimalist. If you're planning to visit, be sure to be at the shop by 8:30am and grab a reservation (they tend to go quick if you're planning on brunching there) and they require a deposit to hold your reservation -keep that in mind if you're on a budget. ”

“ Every so often you hear about places that just can't be real. A place with fluffy pancakes that jiggle around and Stak to about half a foot height... That just can't be real right? Well, it is. This place was absolutely delicious. There isn't much you can get at this place outside of pancakes. I will say that the only thing you're going to want is these delicious pancakes. They come in about four different flavors, Being completely different from the others. There are so many additions you can make from Bacon to Honey to ice cream, so the customization factor is high with these pillowy pieces of perfection. I would highly suggest getting up at the crack of morning and heading here as when we went at 8:30 there was already a line. You will have to put your name on a list to come back at a later time during the day after they officially open. I'm telling you, it is so worth going. ”

“ Ending our trip in Askakusa we knew about this soufflé pancake shop and jumped in line at 8AM sharp to grab a reservation and it did not disappoint! I ordered the original with custard sauce and my wife ordered the bacon and egg pancake. Both were absolutely delicious! They also have fresh fruit juice which is about 700¥ and I highly recommend ordering that. It's more like a smoothie than juice you'd buy at the grocery store and most importantly it's very refreshing after scarfing down some pancakes. The restaurant has about 12 or 15 seats and they are all at the counter which is great because you get to see all the wonderful creations as they are made. So as others have noted, you should arrive around 8 AM. There were a dozen or so people in line when we arrived and the line grew around the side of the block by the time we started. At 8:30 AM they open up and one by one you move up, they take your deposit 1000¥ per person in CASH (if you forgot just head over to the nearby Family Mart and hit up the ATM) and then you select a time. I highly recommend the earliest available slots because as the morning goes on they seemingly start to get backed up a bit and if your reservation is later you may have to wait. Maybe someone else can confirm how much or if they get backed up. Once you are finished head toward the back and you can pay. Our total was 4800¥ for two orders of pancakes, 1 fruit juice, and 1 coffee. You can pay by card based on the signage but we payed in cash. Some of the staff also speak English and they have an English menu. Everyone is very nice. One of the things I wanted to try the most while in Tokyo was the soufflé pancakes and these did not disappoint. I wouldn't get too hung up on trying to wait in line for 2 hours at another spot with a lot of hype when you can get just as good pancakes here. ”
